Description dive spot:
Marsa Bareka is a large bay in the north of Ras Mohammed. The dive site Ras Ghozlani is at the northern tip. Often this is a nice afternoon dive after a long lunch and siesta in Marsa Bareka Bay. The dive site was only released a few years ago, green and red signs indicate the released or locked parts of the diving area. In the bay itself must not be dived to protect the nesting sites of turtles.
Most of the divers do a drift dive here, since anchoring is prohibited here. The weak current mostly runs from north to south.
The reef drops steeply to about 10 meters, then follows a gently sloping plateau, which merges into about 25 meters into a drop off.
In addition to large table corals, you will also find a series of large coral towers beautifully covered with soft corals. Anemones with matching anemonefish are available a lot, also snail lovers will get their money's worth here. Due to the nearby protected area, the chance to meet turtles is very high.
